Surgery update #2

Just to update you...
We ended up in the OR again last night. Sophia did not stop bleeding last night and so they had to bring her back in to find the problem. They went in at 2 ish and Dr. Vrecela came out around 4:30 to say that they it looked like the heart clotted and stopped bleeding. He did say that the benefit was that he took a look at her heart and it looked great..it has already begun to heal and he is really glad he got to see how well it looks already. We made it home to sleep by 6am.
Sophia is really giving it to her ICU team! She is still fighting the sedation and so they had us stay away a little since she want to just get off the bed and go home!! We are heading to be with her now. Her blood pressure has been a bit off but that is what to expect from 6 hours on bypass! Please pray that she would relax! The same fighting spirit that has brought her this far needs to choose to let herself heal!! Please pray that her levels continue to be stable so they can start to work her off the respiration. She will be sedated much for the next two days to help her begin healing. We are going to make sure to come eat with our boys tonight since they are feeling a bit anxious. Pray that we can feel ok with leaving her when we know it is right but it is so hard to do!

Gratefully!

Oh, Carissa, our thoughts and prayers are with you. I told my son Logan about Sophie and he, with the strong faith of a child, told me, "only God can fix inside people's hearts, Mom!" This is all in His hands. When he prayed, he thanked God for helping heal Sophie's heart. Such a blessing! Wanted to enourage you. We will continue to pray for you and your family. May grant grant you, His beloved, rest.
